Public Works Administration & Regulatory Compliance

Responsibilities of the Division

The Administration Division is responsible for providing effective leadership and coordination of departmental activities, support services for the field crews, and ensuring compliance with state and federal laws and regulations relating to Public Works. Specific activities include:

  • Administering the Stormwater Management Program 
  • Administering the Solid Waste Management Program, including Recycling, SB 1383 Organics Program, Construction & Demolitions, and Mandatory Commercial Recycling
  • Managing the Fats, Oils, & Grease (FOG) Program
  • Administering Environmental Programs, Regulatory Compliance, and Enforcement
  • Managing the Cross-Connection Program
  • Managing Special Districts for ongoing maintenance (LMDs, BADs, CFDs, and CSA)
  • Management of a multi-million dollar Public Works Budget
  • Providing Quality Customer Service
  • Coordinating the city's GIS, Water Resources and Floodplain Management Programs, including Water Conservation, FEMA, and Groundwater Quality
