NON-DISCRIMINATION POLICY STATEMENT

The City of Patterson is committed to upholding the principles of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, which mandates that "No person in the United States shall be discriminated against based on race, color, national origin, sex, disability, or age, nor shall they be excluded from participation in, denied benefits of, or subjected to discrimination in any services, programs, or activities it administers." Discrimination, whether intentional or unintentional, is prohibited under this policy. This applies to all activities and operations under the City of Patterson’s jurisdiction, including those involving consultants, contractors, vendors, suppliers, and anyone acting on behalf of the City of Patterson.

The City of Patterson Prohibits All Forms of Discrimination That May Result In:

Denial of Service, Aid, or Benefits:

The City will not deny any individual access to any services, financial aid, benefits, programs, or activities offered by the City of Patterson based on their race, color, national origin, sex, disability, or age. 

Different Standards or Requirements for Participation:
The City will not impose different standards or participation requirements of any of its programs and/or activities unless based on legitimate programmatic or operational needs. 

Segregation or Separate Treatment:
The City will not segregate or provide separate treatment to individuals based on their race, color, national origin, sex, disability, or age from any of its programs or activities.  

Discrimination in the Provision of Benefits or Services:
The City will not provide benefits or services in a way that is unequal in quality, quantity, or manner, or that favors certain individuals or groups over others based on discriminatory factors.

Discrimination in Facilities:
The City will not engage in discriminatory practices in the operation, maintenance, or activities of any facility built in whole or in part with federal funds, including but not limited to segregation or unequal treatment of individuals based on protected categories.

The City of Patterson is committed to ensuring that no individual faces discrimination in any of its services, programs, and activities, whether they are federally funded or not.
